An Exciting Day

An exciting day today! We saw sperm whales in Trinity Bay for the first time in many years. We hear them almost every time we put the hydrophone in but never see them. Today not only did we see three sperm whales but one was Nelson an old friend first photographed here in Trinity Bay in 2010 and last seen by us in 2013 in Bonavista Bay. Nelson is here with a whale that is new to us (Connor) and another that has yet to be photographed. We had a total of 3 sperm whales today, 25 white sided dolphins, 1 ocean sunfish, bald eagles, puffins, gannets, guillemots and murres.
